2008 witnessed an increase in deal activity, despite economic slow down and credit crunch prevailing in the market. The market reported 2,474 deals in 2008, compared to 2,237 deals in 2007.

The Global Biofuels Industry, Market Size and Growth

Energy generation segment registered 1,437 deals in 2008, compared to 1,383 deals in 2007. Transportation, with 396 deals, bagged the second spot. Recycling and waste management followed next with 232 agreements and the water & waste management industry saw 183 deals being inked in 2008.
