Force Motors to Form Joint Venture with Rolls-Royce Power Systems

Deal Summary

Force Motors Limited, a company which design, develops and manufactures automotive components, has entered into a non-binding term sheet to form joint venture with Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG, a manufacturer and supplier of engines and propulsion systems for ships, drive systems for agricultural and rail vehicles, and industrial drives, for producing engines (for power generation and rail application), and complete power generation systems, including associated spare parts for Indian and global markets.

Force Motors plans to build a dedicated facility under the joint venture at its existing premises at Chakan Pune. The plant will be operational by the first quarter of fiscal 2018-2019. Force Motors will hold a 51% stake and Rolls-Royce Power Systems will hold 49% stake in the joint venture company. The two companies will invest INR3,000 million (US46.86 million) From now until the start of production.
