Tayabas Geothermal Power Receives Grant for Geothermal Power Project in Luzon, Philippines

Deal Summary

Tayabas Geothermal Power Inc., a geothermal power generation company, has received a grant for the construction and development of a geothermal power project in southeast Luzon, Philippines. The grant was provided by The US Trade and Development Agency. The total installed capacity of the power plant will be between 60 MW and 100 MW. Work is expected to begin in December 2017 with drilling operations commencing in the second quarter of 2018.

Tayabas Geothermal Power has selected Layman Energy Associates, Inc. as the prime contractor for this study and drilling operations. LEA will manage a consortium of specialized geothermal service companies to support completion of a temperature gradient drilling program to update the resource assessment.
